Cardiff International Food & Drink Festival 10– 12th July 2009 Head down to
Cardiff Bay to sample food and drink from all over the world. This
open air festival in Roald Dahl Plass, Cardiff Bay features French
and German cuisine, beers and wines of the world to wash it down
and bands, performers and music to aid digestion. Admission Free
but alas not the food! |

Open Air Theatre July - August 2009 The popular summer productions by the Everyman theatre company continue in 2009 with 'The Gondoliers' by Gilbert and Sullivan (8-18 July), 'King Lear' by Shakespeare (22 July - 1 Aug) and 'Toad of Toad Hall' (25 July - 1 Aug )for the kids. The open air theatre at St. Fagans museum is a delightful venue on a summer evening and the audience (if not the actors) are covered in the event of inclement weather. See if you can spot the museums cat which likes to take a leisurely stroll over the stage in mid-act. Everyman Theatre

Welsh National Eisteddfod August 2 - 9 2008 A festival of literature, music and poetry - all of it in the medium of Welsh, the National Eisteddfod ventures south to the capital this year. This isn't the one with the African folk dancers and Russian choirs, it's the one with all the characters in white and the big chair. Great fun as long as you siarad cymraeg. Information line on 029
